Yoga is unlike any form of exercise and may not come naturally like walking or running.

Beginner Yoga

This eight week series (call for dates)  helps you get into a routine 
so that you can experience the full benefits of the practice of yoga.  
This class will go over the fundamentals of yoga with progression.

All-Level Yoga

Suitable to experienced students. An eclectic blend of various Hatha yoga styles, more focus on postures, partner work, introduction to vinyasa, pranayama (breathing), and yogic lifestyle.

Vinyasa / Power Yoga

This is a vigorous, aerobic yoga workout using sun salutations and vinyasa (connected flower poses) for a maximum strength and flexibility practice for experienced students.

Svaroopa

This class is not accepting new students.   

Svaroopa yoga is a gentle style of yoga using specific, sequenced postures to open the spine and unravel deeply held tensions. Using precise alignment, each pose is supported by props such as blankets, chairs and blocks. In Sanskrit, Svaroopa means "the bliss of your own being." The intention of Svaroopa is to promote healing and open you to your own personal transformation Classes are designed to create core openings by comfortably holding the postures with meticulously placed props, thus allowing for deep releases in the body and inner bliss.

 

Pre-Natal Yoga

This class provides a supportive environment for the pregnant woman focusing on yoga postures designed for all stages of pregnancy with an emphasis on relaxation, breathing, and guided imagery.

Mommy (or Daddy) & Me/ Parent & Kid Yoga 

An opportunity to spend yoga time with your baby/toddler/young child.  A very nurturing and care free class filled with Parent yoga, baby/toddler stretches, and chanting. This class supports parents at all levels of yoga (no prior experience necessary) and allows them to enjoy a chance to stretch and exercise along side their baby/toddler/young child.  A beautiful bonding time for both parent and child.

Parent & Kid’s Yoga ages 3 - 6

An opportunity for you and your child to experience yoga that will connect them to their spirit and allow them to enjoy a noncompetitive form of exercise. Come and enjoy a class filled with fun and laughs paired with stretching yoga postures, breath work, and meditation.

Belly Dance

 Learn this ancient dance form used for entertainment, exercise, worship, healing and fun.  It is a unique and effective workout that brings joy to all ages.  Classes are geared toward beginners.

Laurie Sabourin Facilitated Healing Center, Cromwell Yoga

Laurie Sabourin - has been studying and practicing yoga since 1983. She is a certified Kripalu Yoga instructor, receiving her teacher training at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox Massachusetts, North America’s largest yoga center. She also studied Power Yoga with Baron Baptiste and received teacher certification in Vinyasa Flow with Shiva Rea. Laurie is a member of the Kripalu Yoga Teachers Association and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Ms. Sabourin is the owner and director of Facilitated Healing Center in Cromwell, CT and enjoys assisting people to reach optimal health and wellness.

Kathy Senecal Facilitated Healing Center, Cromwell Yoga

 

Kathy Senecal is a Registered Yoga Instructor and Yoga Therapist. She has been a yoga practitioner since 1994 and received her earlier training from Ruth Anne Lundeberg and later, Therapeutic Certification from Joseph LePage. Kathy is currently offering Yoga therapy at our studio.

Jennifer James Facilitated Healing Center, Cromwell Yoga

 

Jennifer James has been studying yoga for over 11 years and teaching for four years She is certified through Integrative Yoga Therapy. In addition, Jennifer has done extensive coursework in studying the Chakras and energy work. She is currently teaching pre-natal yoga classes and is interested in the therapeutic aspects of yoga in guiding students to explore and discover their inner potential. Jennifer practiced pre-natal yoga during her first pregnancy and found it very supportive and nurturing. She also enjoys working individually with clients. Jennifer lives in East Haddam with her husband, Chris, and son, Lucas.

Patricia DiFazio Facilitated Healing Center, Cromwell Yoga

 

Patricia DiFazio (Divya Jyoti) has been practicing yoga for 25 years and has been living a yogic lifestyle for the last 15 years. (She is a strict vegetarian, lives a simple lifestyle, follows the eight-fold limbs of yoga and does regular seva or selfless service) Patty has studied yoga with many of the great yogic masters of India. She has traveled to India seven times where she lived in an ashram. She was certified as a yoga instructor through the Yoga Institute in Houston, Texas and also through the Atma Vidya Ashram. Patty continues to study with her  teacher Swamini Lalitanada of the Atma Vidya Ashram. It  was her guru Swamini Lalitananda who gave Patty her  spiritual name Divya Jyoti which means Divine Light. This personal, in depth spiritual teaching has prepared Divya to  teach yogic philosophy and meditation techniques as well as lead asana.

Lisa Eberhardt - is a certified Kripalu yoga instructor. She also has completed a chakra yoga teacher training with Todd Norian. Lisa continues to pursue her love of yoga by taking several workshops / trainings each year. Her teaching style is influenced by the Anusura yoga style and encourages her students to be present in their bodies

Gia Khalsa- has developed her own unique style of artistic expression using a spiritual, emotional, and eclectic blend of the ancient art of Middle Eastern belly dancing.  She has studied ballroom and country western dance.  Since 1996 she has studied belly dance from various teachers, workshops and videos.  Because of her 30 year background in yoga, she resonated to this discipline and began teaching in 1997.
